Its growth has been phenomenal.    Its attractions are many.   And, its cuisine is some of the finest you will find in all of Asia.   The destination this week is Shanghai.   From the markets, to the restaurants, to the unique and spectacular Shanghai Renaissance Hotel, we’ll explore this Chinese pearl and all that it has to offer from a culinary standpoint.

Our annual contribution showcasing some of the best hotels and resorts the world over.  

We’ll start on the Caribbean Island of Nevis.   There, we’ll highlight the Four Seasons Resort-Nevis, one of the best resorts in the Caribbean and the world.   We’ll then travel north a bit to the city of New Orleans and the Renaissance Arts Hotel.   Artistic and delicious in every sense, you won’t want to miss an inside peak at this one of a kind property.   From the New World to the Old, we’ll then travel to Switzerland and the Park Hotel Weggis on beautiful Lake Lucerne.   Then last, but certainly not least, the equally stunning Villa Feltrinelli on Northern Italy’s Lake Garda.

One of the most dramatic cantons of Switzerland, the Valais has it all-great scenery, fantastic wine, and wonderful food.   We’ll sample it all from the mountain resort towns of Verbier and Saas Fee to the valley communities of Sion and Sierre.   We’ll witness a local baking tradition that goes back generations, take a trip to the top of the mountain and see how the food gets there, and sip some wine from Europe’s highest vineyard.

You might not think of St. Louis as a dining destination, but then, you might want to think again.

From marvelous, authentic Italian food on “The Hill,” the outstanding steaks and seafood served by a St. Louis sports legend just blocks from Busch Stadium, to the opulence of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and its culinary program, St. Louis has it all.   And, that’s just the beginning.   We’ll also profile a market-restaurant combination that utilizes some of the best products around and showcases it with an award-winning wine list.   We’ll visit the Ameristar Casino, which has some of the most exciting food venues in the entire metropolitan area.   And, we’ll go upscale at Plaza Frontenac’s Cardwell’s on the Plaza-a seafood emporium.
