#505-Barbados-One Tasty Island

In the far southern end of the Caribbean, you’ll find one of the more diverse and delicious islands around.   Barbados, once a British Colony, maintains a British feel on parts of the island.   For example, we’ll do High Tea at a lovely historic house in the middle of the island.   Elsewhere, we’ll hit Barbados’ version of the Friday Night Fish Fry, stop in at a rum shop, tour the Island’s historic Mount Gay Rum plant, and visit some of the best restaurants, casual and gourmet, on Barbados.

Make no bones about it, Switzerland produces from the best, most authentic, and flavorful cheese in the world.   This show is dedicated to three of the most famous cheeses and cheese regions: Appenzeller, Emmental, and Gruyere.   We’ll visit a mountain dairy and watch as Gruyere is made over and open fire in a labor of love, strength, and tradition.   In Emmental, we’ll descend into caves holding the precious wheels of the aromatic and flavorful Swiss beauty.   And, in the remote area that produces Appenzeller, we’ll head to the dairy and sample the different ages of one of the world’s great cheeses.

#508-Australian Excellence

We saw a whole lot of Sydney during the Olympics not too long ago, but what we haven’t seen is how this incredible city’s culinary scene has continued to explode.   From the Sydney Seafood Market and its plethora of world-class seafood, to a local gourmet shop packed with goodies and loaded with personality, to one of the finest restaurants in the entire country, Sydney is not to be missed.   As a bonus, we’ll then head to the Hunter Valley wine region north of Sydney for a little Hunter Valley wine history and unforgettable Hunter Valley cuisine.
