| #305-"Exploring
Oz" |
Location:
Australia-Lindemans/Penfolds/Wynns
They like to call Australia "Oz," and for me, its
a fitting title because traveling its wine regions is like following
the yellow brick road. Here, well visit three regions and profile
three awesome wineries. First, we tour the Hunter Valley, Australias
first wine area, and one of its first wineries, Lindemans. Next,
its down to South Australias Barossa Valley for the wines
of Penfolds, makers of Australias most famous wine, Grange.
Penfolds portfolio is broader and better than ever. Last, but
certainly not least, is the Coonawarra and Wynns. Known for classic
Cabernet Sauvignons and Shiraz, winemaker Sue Hodder has quite the
deft touch with Chardonnay as well. Well taste all three and
end the day with an Aussie-style barbie right in the historic Wynns's
cellars. |

| #306-"Salmon
and Wine Anyone?" |
Location:
Sonoma County-Clos du Bois/San Francisco-Salmon Fishing/Aqua
What a trip! We start in the vineyards of the plush Alexander Valley
in the heart of Sonoma County. The winery is Clos du Bois, one of
the countys best. Starting in the vineyards where microclimates
can allow Chardonnay and Merlot to be harvested on the same day,
well next head to Charcuterie restaurant in downtown Healdsburg,
where French heritage meets local wine each and every day. From Sonoma,
well head out on the water with superchef Michael Mina in search
of salmon. Then Mina will cook up our catch at his own spectacular
Aqua restaurant in San Franciscos financial district. |

where Lungarotti is the unquestioned wine leader. In neighboring Tuscany, well
stop by a hands-on cooking school that gives participants more than just a good
time. Then, its on to the Veneto for some time in Venice with the spectacular
Hotel Danielli and in the countryside at the Villa Cipriatti. Its enough
Italian flavors and expressions to fill any appetite. |

| #308-"Island
Hopping" |
Location:
U.S. Virgin Islands
St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas-if you had to pick just one,
it would be a tough choice. Fortunately, well give viewers
some of all three of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Well begin on
St. Thomas at the lovely and delicious Ritz-Carlton. On St. John,
we focus on the tradition of "ole time baking" and modern-day
great food. And, on St. Croix, our explorations take us from cattle,
to rum, to pure cane juice. Three islands-one great time! |
